Welcome to the life work of Pat Mullins
This blog has been created in January 2008 to continue to preserve and share the work of my father, Pat Mullins.
In 2000, after my fathers death, i had created, LAFPDL.com. Its original purpose was two fold:
1. to preserve the work of my father
2. to become a communication method for those people who knew my family to come and see the latest news on my sisters health, my mother, and the family in general.
3 months later, my sister died and so the site then changed its purpose again:
1. to preserve the work of my father
2. to archive stories, pictures and the work of my family
3. to promote the scholarship i had created in my sisters name at UC Berkeley: The Beverly Mullins Memorial Scholarship fund.
8 years later, the original sites purpose (LAFPDL.com) has changed and so i’ve created this blog (The Life Work of Pat Mullins) as a place to just host my fathers work. I will still have his work on my personal blog, but for those people that may not agree with information i write about on my personal blog, this allows them a place to come, link to, and download my fathers work without having to go through the other information shared on LAFPDL.com.
I have chosen to keep LAFPDL.com domain my personal blog, my family blog, because that phrase lives on through me, through our family and through others and i do not want it to only represent an archive site - it has always been a foundation for this family and so I have decided, with my mothers blessings, to keep it alive and active as my blog.
In 2005 my good friend Cris Mitchell started working on over 100 of my fathers talks, originally recorded on audio tapes from 1980-2000 and put them in digital format and cleaned up the quality of the audios. I owe him so much for doing that labor of love and i want to acknowledge him here. Those talks are on this site as well as on LAFPDL.com and available via mp3 format in the Life Work of Pat Mullins series.
As money allows, we will continue to have cris continue the work of cleaning up the old talks and creating digital versions of them to this site. When we do so, we will post a message sharing what has been added.
Enjoy. Be loved, -dianna
